| Sandra shakes in her position mostly with excitment. As Marcen walked around her , her mind begain to wonder around. Pretty trees...Shaking her head she focuses again. At his command to remove her hat she lifts her hand to it and removes it. Tossing it aside she bites her lip. She felt naked without it. Blinking her eyes she slides one leg out to fully balance herself. Lifting up her cane to Marcen to insptect , she smiles. Pressing a release switch, she plces her other hand on one side and pulls. Out came two semi-long blades. |

| He watches at your hat floats majestically to the ground and lands with grace. Resting on the very tips of the grass blades. He watches as you widen your stance giving your more proper balance. “Good I see you already know a little about balance, but it couldn’t help to for a refresher course.” he looks at your cane with a smile as you pulled it apart revealing the blades. (Note try to tell how long the blades are by using real numbers like two feet or 3 feet.) “Very nice. Now for the Balance refresher course. Without balance there in no chance in winning a fight or spar. If you are knocked off balance it can often lead to you oppnite (SP) having enough time to imply another attack. Plus another attack coming at you while your off balance can be devastating.” as he spoke he never stayed in one place long. He had started to walk around you once more circling you like a predator does to its pray. “ a good way to stay balanced is to try to keep your feet at least a foot apart, two feet if your can. Another way is to push one foot out in front of you and push the other out behind you putting a foot or two of distance between them.” he stopped just long enough for you to take this all in and ask any questions you might have. |

| Nodding her head she reconnects her 20inch blades and places it next to her hat. "That is not my only means of weapon.."She smiles but does nothing to reveal anything. Listening to his words about ballance she nods her head. Feet apart....20 inches. She coppied this. Placing one foot foreward and the other back she felt awekward. Bending her knees slightly she felt more a peace with her position."What next Marcen?" |

| He watches as you reconnect your staff. He made a mental note to test her with it later. He chuckles as you take your stance. The tightness of your pants would in his mind make it harder for you to move, but if its what you moved best in he would say nothing about it. “0f course this is all hand to hand at the moment for it is impossible to fight with energy if you can‘t properly fight with your hands first.” he stopped in front of you and started talking again. “first defense.”
“This is a tricky subject, because of the different rules regarding RP fighting. Here the rules are reflicked but simple. No matter how well your defense, positioning, etc., etc., you have to take damage or it's a mod. Therefore, you need to know how to set up a defense that can lower the damage by a significant amount. Even the simply placement of a sword can help lessen any damage from an oncoming attack. However, as this is hand to hand defense, swords won't be needed.
Okay, first things first. There are numerous ways you can do a body defense (Defense consisting of body parts); such as crossed arms over your chest, a raised leg, yadda yadda. It is imperative that you keep a hand or a leg set in such a way defense is possible, so you can react and adjust quickly in time for an attack.
Defense is directly -directly- proportionate to a persons durability and fatigue level. The lower either are, the more likely your defense will falter in face of an attack. To compensate, one must be able to remain alert during a battle, though alertness does NOT last forever.
Also, your defense must be able to withstand an attack. If your defense is weak when you set it up, and it is faced with a powerful attack; it WILL fall.
Also, beware how you are positioned. Use LOGIC. If you can't logically defend with one part of your body due to positioning, THEN DON'T TRY. Use something else, or take the hit.
Defense is just as important as offense, because without it, you CAN lose a fight, or rather most likely will, unless you are a tank.
Different things correspond with defense, mostly armors. The heavy your armor, the more hits you can take, but the slower you'll be. The lighter your armor, you'll be more apt to damage, but you'll be quicker.” he stops after his small speech and waits to see if you have any questions.
(Note: When using number try to write out the number in stead of just putting down a 5 or a ten. It just makes the post look bad when it had numbers in it.) |

| "Alright, I think I might understand that." She looked down at her legs. With the way they were she would most likely use the left leg to defend because that one was in the back. If she should use her right one she would be thrown off ballance. "What about simple dodge?" She had done that before but it didn't last long. |

| he smiled at your question glad you asked. After all someone who was egger to learn should ask a lot of questions. “Awww yes the one and only dodge. In hand to hand its rather harder to dodge than defend, because it’s difficult to take damage when dodging. Remember the most important rule of fighting hand to hand or not, you must take some damage every attack no matter how small the amount of damage is. Also seeing as how a dodge takes more movements than a simple block therefore it wears your stamina down faster.” he paused and waited to see if you understood. |

| Sandra relaxes her body and taps her lips. "I think I got it.." She understood what he ment but wondered why did you have to take damage EVERtime you get hit. |

| He could tell what you were thinking so he answered. “My dear taking damage in every attack thrown at you is just a rule of all RP fight. Is prevents someone from going through a hole fight and not taking any damage. If you were aloud to not take damage every fight would last forever.” |

| Marcen chuckles a little as you slap your head. “Next time your thinking of a question please ask it. I won’t be able to tell what your thinking every time. Remember no question is a stupid question.
Now attack. Attack is perfectly simple to understand. Punch, Kick, Use whatever your body parts allow for. Attacking is how you will, undoubtedly, win a spar; fight; or any other fighting exercise, unless rules state otherwise. This is directly related to your strength, speed, stamina, charisma, etc., etc. The less those are, the weaker you are; the higher those are, the stronger you are. Energy isn't going to last forever, nor is it ever-lasting. The way people use energy on most sites, they'd be shit outta energy in two posts. This is were hand to hand comes in handy. No energy is needed to throw a punch though stamina is. If furing any kind of fight or spar you use hand to hand as much as possible it will allow you to save your energy and use it once your opponite (sp) is starting to tire.
Positioning is highly important. Depending on how you position yourself, will effect what you can and can't do, it will determine the strength, and force, behind your strike.
Since this is hand to hand, you will focus on your body parts, in order to subdue an opponent. Head, Hand, Shoulder, Elbow, Knee, and Foot. All of these, are commonly used when hand to hand is employed, Hand and Foot more-so than the rest. These, are vulnerable to fractures, breaks, etc., etc. However, they won't run out of natural strength, unless you do.
Depending on who you are, there are a multitude of things you can do with your hands, and other body parts, especially in conjunction with each other. Most commonly used are normal kicks and punches; though sweeps, uppercut, elbow shots, are useable as well. Advanced attack options include combinations, and the like. However, the more attacks you include in an combo, are generally weaker than the first; due to momentum and such.
Attack is affected by your opponents defense. If faced with a stronger defense, the attack won't do as much. However, if it is faced with a weaker defense it will prevail and do plenty of damage. After an attack, if plausible distance yourself from your opponent.” |

| As her teacher spoke to her she lightly touched her Head and winces. A lot to remember."It is easier to remember all of this when it is happening right?" Placeing her hands on her hips she stares at Marcen. God I hope so...Shakeing her head at that thought she sets her jaw."I think I understand now." |

| He laughed at your comment. “Yes its easier when doing it. After I’m don’t explaining we will have a hand to hand spar. Now for countering.
It is quite simple to counter an attack, if you properly set yourself up for it. It is not hard to do so, and your opponent will often berate themselves for allowing such. However, it requires an immense knowledge of your position as it relates to your opponents. If you can counter your opponent, you can effectively cripple defense opportunities, and do more damage than normal.
How to Counter?
1) Watch what your opponent does.
2) Try and escape as much damage as possible. (Without escaping all damage.)
3) Get inside their range.
4) Punish them.” |

| Chuckling he replied. “Never be to quick to start. After all I’m not done telling you the important things of hand to hand. Now for Defense Breakers.
These are powerful, often lead off, attacks used to break a persons defense. They are often slow, but strong. If it can break a defense, there is a chance the person defending will be stunned. -Don't count on it on most site though, people have remarkably fast recovery times (Which is very borderline modding.)-. If used properly, and a stun occurs, you can potentially get off two or three more attacks, before your opponent can recover. To break a defense you must unleash a combination of attack. It is most effective when your trying to break ones defense the first punch or kick of your combination be weaker and slowly make each attack slightly stronger as the combination progresses.” |

| She tilts her head at this. She didn't understand this. "Like how??" She looks down. Squating down she places her hands on her head and tries to think. "Is it attack after attack?" |

| Smiling he say’s. “Don’t worry everyone has a hard time understanding this. I’ll give you and example. Lets say someone was holding there arms crossed over there chest defending there chest in a very well way. If you wish to hit said person in the chest you will have to do a defense breaker. This is simple a combination. When breaking a be fence do not just throw one punch or one kick. Instead throw a serious of powerful punches or kicks at the defense. If uses properly it can break the defense. Do you understand now?” |

| Sandra's head snaps up. "I Understand!!" She jumps up and lets out a cry of excitement."I have seen that before!!...On TV But HEY!!!" She boucnes in place."Like a Contender?"She squeals in glee."What next?" |

| He lets out a strong laugh that caused him to tilt his head back a little. after a few seconds of laughing he went serious again. “Next is speed.
This is simple and doesn't require a lot of explanation. NATURAL speed is better than ENERGY induced speed. Why? Because if you're speed is dependent on energy, and you run out of energy, you are more apt to fatigue. Natural speed increases endurance, charisma, as well as increases number of capable combo strikes. While, Energy-Induced is nice, it WILL, drain your energy.
The more you weigh, the slower you are. And the less you weigh, the faster you move.” |

| He shakes his head a little. It was just like a girl to take what he said as an insult. He didn’t say anything about it and went on with his last explanation. “Last is fatigue.
YOU WILL GET TIRED, especially if you are moving, attacking, defending, or expending energy a lot. Natural strength, speed, and such is not limitless, neither is energy. You'll get tired as the fight progresses. You've seen it, Attacks with five or six attacks launch at you at the same time Bullshit, they should be down and out after that. Be careful of words like immense, a lot, or other words you normally use to describe your attacks, unless they are actually big” he was done with his explanation. “So are you ready to face off against ace in hand to hand?” |

| She nods her head."Being basicly human I will get tired faster.." She looks up and frowns."Why Ace?"She shakes her head,"He just wants to have the glory of saying he beat me.." |

| Sandra looked from the food to Marcen. Biting her lip she set her jaw and locked her eyes on Marcen. Standing up she moves away from the food and stands before him."Food can wait."Her voice was hard and not the same light southern chant. |
